What is Independent Practicum?
Practicum Description
This comprehensive Independent Practicum Program is for Internationally Educated Dietitians located in Canada. Through interactive sessions, presentations and case-study discussions with a variety of experts, we cover the newest approaches to educate candidates. Our goal is to update your understanding of the Dietetic Practice in Canada.

Physically present in Canada and legally entitled to work in the country.

Achieved a Level 1 in KCAT examination.

Proficient in English.

Registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

Willing to learn and open to feedback.

PREFERRED: Student member of Dietitians of Canada.

PREFERRED: Completed IEDNC's "Nutrition Care Process" Online course.
Practicum Details
Independent Practicum dates to be announced.
PRICING:
Cost of practicum for selected candidates is $350 per week; 4 weeks fees to be paid in advance.
Practicum Length
For a total of 12 months, candidates will get hands on learning in 3 aspects of Canadian Dietetics

Clinical Placement: 16 Weeks - 40 hours per week

Management Placement: 16 Weeks - 40 hours per week

Population and Public Health Placement: 16 Weeks - 40 hours per week

Locations may include private health clinics, long term cares, Not For Profit Organizations and more.
Instructors
Registered Dietitians provide diabetes education and education on nutrition, health and wellness to various communities, organizations, workplaces and health centres across Ontario.The Registered Dietitians will work in close collaboration with physicians and allied health care professionals of the team. The role will encompass both the provision of direct patient care and assisting in the development and/or implementation of programs, resources and more.
